Johnson Controls opens HVAC sales store
Johnson Controls marked the opening of its first Chicago area Source 1 HVAC Supply Center with a ceremony Sept. 10, 2014.
The grand opening included product displays, demonstrations, food and the chance to meet former Chicago Blackhawk Jack O’Callahan.
The Vernon Hills, Ill., store carries Source 1, York and Guardian HVAC construction products, along with universal HVAC market supplies. Source 1 is the only authorized supplier of factory-approved parts and accessories for Johnson Controls’ unitary residential and light-commercial equipment.
“As each new center opens, we are providing contractors with a one-stop source for equipment, parts and HVAC-related supplies as well as HVAC expertise and training, all in a single convenient location,” said Chris Cozzi, Johnson Controls Chicago area district general manager. “Our goal is to help contractors improve their productivity and profitability.”
Additional Chicago area stores were to open in Elgin, Ill., and Aurora, Ill., in October.
“We’re creating a full-service solution where inventory is replenished on a nightly basis,” said Johnson Controls vice president for North American factory-direct sales, Jeffrey Meyer. “This model enables us to operate our service centers closer to where our contractors and dealers work every day and helps them be more productive, reducing their travel time and allowing them to spend more time completing a repair or proper install.”
