Mechanical contractor Penguin recently took part in forming a giant pink ribbon to draw attention to the fight against breast cancer.

More than 750 people, including Penguin employees, tenants of the Alexandria Center for Life Science and Gilda’s Club of New York City wore pink hard hats from Emcor as part of the company’s campaign.

HVAC construction company Penguin is an Emcor subsidiary.

A check for $110,000 was presented to Gilda’s Club by Emcor and Alexandria Real Estate Equities.

“We’re delighted to be participating in Emcor’s sixth consecutive year of conducting this national initiative,” said Penguin CEO Paul Shields. “The enthusiasm for this program continues to grow, and we’ve received feedback regarding the positive impact our awareness efforts have had on decisions to go for a screening — we know Emcor is making a difference. Our field employees wear a hard hat every day for personal protection, and we’re proud of their commitment to wear a pink hard hat during October to help raise awareness of the importance of screening.”
