Plumbing and HVAC wholesaler Ferguson announced its plans to expand the company’s warehouse space with two additional distribution centers in Coxsackie, N.Y., and Secaucus, N.J.
“Our acquisitions and the addition of these two facilities secure Ferguson’s presence in the Northeast,” said Ferguson CEO Frank Roach. “Our investment in the region is based on our philosophy to always strive to better serve our customers.”
The plumbing and HVAC wholesaler is in the process of constructing the 460,000-square-foot New York distribution center, which is to be completed by late summer 2015. The new facility will create 95 new jobs, company officials say.
Ferguson is also leasing 450,000 square feet of warehouse space at a former Panasonic headquarters complex in New Jersey. The company said renovations are currently under way and it should open in early 2015.
“Ferguson Enterprises’ decision to invest in Greene County is another win in our efforts to grow the upstate economy by creating jobs and new economic opportunities for New Yorkers,” Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said in a statement. “By establishing this new distribution center, Ferguson Enterprises is bringing nearly 100 jobs to the capital region and spurring continued growth in the community of Coxsackie. This was a collaborative effort — with support from both the state and local governments — and I am pleased to welcome this company to New York state.”
