Airco Commercial Services Inc. has been purchased by ABM’s building and energy division. The sale was completed Aug. 1. Terms were not disclosed.
Sacramento, Calif.-based Airco provides commercial and industrial HVAC construction services, energy and building controls work. Additional northern California offices are in San Francisco, Benicia and San Jose.
“The acquisition of Airco Commercial Services enables ABM to provide an expansive portfolio of HVAC, mechanical and energy-efficiency solutions throughout northern California,” said ABM Building & Energy Solutions President Scott Giacobbe. “With recent Title 24 changes, PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) financing options and a variety of government and utility incentives, we can now offer clients in northern California cost-effective, energy-efficiency solutions that reduce operating expenses and improve indoor comfort.”
Airco has been part of the ABM-owned Linc Service commercial HVAC franchise since 1987.
“We are very excited to introduce these best-in-class HVAC and energy-efficiency services to our existing electrical, facilities engineering, janitorial, landscape, security and parking clients throughout northern California,” said Tracy Price, executive vice president of ABM and president of ABM Facility Solutions Group. “Our strategy to deliver our entire portfolio of services in every major metro area in California is now complete. Many clients are looking for a single-source provider for all their facility services. It’s a real competitive advantage for ABM.”
Charles Jones, the retiring president of Airco Commercial Services, said the acquisition is a fitting end to his career.
“We were looking to extend our proud legacy established by Airco Commercial Services as a long-standing member of ABM’s Linc Service network for our employees and clients,” he said. “My family and I wanted to ensure a smooth transition for our employees and an uninterrupted delivery of best-in-class solutions to our clients, so ABM was the obvious choice. My personal passion is service, and I am proud of what our employees have helped build over the last 25-plus years. I have every confidence they will continue to thrive with ABM.”
