Metal roofing contractors planning to attend the 2015 International Roofing Expo may want to arrive in New Orleans a day early.
Not to partake in the debauchery along the French Quarter’s Bourbon Street, but to help restore the homes of residents in need.
The convention’s fifth annual Community Service Day will take place Feb. 23 before the start of the roofing show. Working with charity Rebuilding Together, homeowners who lack the means to do it themselves will have their houses repaired.
“This is a great opportunity for the roofing industry to give back to the New Orleans community,” said show director Tracy Garcia. “The success of this project is attributed to our wonderful volunteers and their dedication to helping those less fortunate.”
Volunteers of all skill levels are needed.
“The International Roofing Expo and NRCA are pleased to once again offer this opportunity to help families in need,” said Bill Good, the National Roofing Contractors Association’s executive vice president.
The NRCA is the show’s official sponsor.
“I hope to see many of our members participating in this worthwhile cause,” Good added.
A $25 fee covers refreshments and transportation to the worksites.
