The side-mount unit was invented for technicians working out in the elements, not just on rooftops, officials say. The universal mounting device can be used on the left or right side, or on the top of a metal surface. It keeps the tech 10-20°F cooler. It also has an extra magnet so that technicians can place the screws at easy reach.
