New Jersey-based HVAC contractor Armistead Mechanical Inc. was recently given awards from officials in two states.
At an April 10 ceremony, Armistead received a Gold Safety Award from Northeastern Contractors Association of Albany, N.Y., a group made up of 520 contractors and suppliers based in eastern New York state.
Joe Jerkowski, Armistead Mechanical’s operations vice president, and safety manager Chris Byrne accepted the award.
The company was also given the Governor’s Award for Continued Excellence from the New Jersey Occupational Safety and Health Awards program. It recognizes companies that have had little or no workplace injuries in the previous year.
This is the sixth year Armistead has been part of the program, and it has not had a lost-time incident for five years, officials said.
