Registration is now open for the ACCA’s third annual Building Performance Forum.

The Oct. 7-8 HVAC market event will take place at a Sheraton hotel in downtown Charlotte, N.C.

Organizers say the event is the only conference aimed at whole-building HVAC construction residential and commercial services.

"The first two years of the Building Performance Forum showed that contractors are eager to get this type of quality training, so they can grow their building performance market share," said Paul T. Stalknecht, president and CEO of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America. "This year, we decided to expand the programming based on suggestions from attendees and our members. And we are pleased to welcome BPI as a new presenting partner at the forum."

Among the topics planned for the event are presentations on teaching HVAC sales technicians about home performance, ventilation in “tight” homes, fixing unusual duct problems and airflow testing.

The opening session will feature entrepreneur Louis Foreman, who will speak about “creating a culture of innovation.”

Sponsors for the forum include: AC Leak Freeze, Aeroseal, the Building Performance Institute, Bristol Compressors, CallSource, ComfortRx, Danfoss, U.S. Department of Energy, Dr. Energy Saver, Emerson, FieldAware, Mitsubishi, Jackson Systems, North American Technician Excellence, Nexstar, PowerSelling Pros, Trane, Ultra-Aire and the Energy Conservatory.

All will be exhibiting in the sponsor showcase.

Larry Zarker, BPI’s chief executive officer, said he was excited to be working with ACCA on the event.

"We are excited to serve as a co-presenter of this year's Building Performance Forum," Zarker said. "This is a great opportunity for contractors who are actively engaged in home and building performance to get together with their peers and learn how to run better businesses while helping their customers reduce energy usage. We're glad to be part of it."

Contractors who attend the forum will have the option of receiving BPI and/or NATE continuing-education credits.

The event’s media partner is the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration News. Like SNIPS, it is owned by BNP Media.
