3M is marking the 50th anniversary of its Super 77, its glue that was sprayed from a can.

Today, aerosol adhesives are common, but the Minnesota-based company says the original is still popular with HVAC construction and in many other fields.

Super 77 is a fast-drying, low volatile-organic compound adhesive that attaches to many industrial materials. Its bonds insulation to HVAC market components and is used in ductwork fabrication applications.

To mark the anniversary, the company formerly known as Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing is overhauling the product’s packaging and encouraging users to visit this website to take part in a contest for an iPad or gift card. It also wants users to use the hashtag Super77 (#Super77) in social media communications about the product.
