HVAC market wholesaler Ferguson buys New Jersey appliance dealer
HVAC and plumbing wholesaler Ferguson has purchased Karl’s Sales and Service Co. LLC, better known as Karl’s Appliance. Terms were not disclosed.
The northern New Jersey-based company is one of the 30 largest appliance dealers in the country, Ferguson officials said. It operates six showrooms and has been in business since 1941.
“We are excited to add Karl’s Appliance to the Ferguson family,” said Ferguson CEO Frank Roach.
Plans call for lighting and plumbing products to be added to the Karl’s stores and making them a destination for contractors and homeowners.
“Ferguson will build upon the reputation we’ve already established in the marketplace by adding their full array of kitchen and bath products, and their world-class customer service philosophy aligns with how we’ve treated our customers since the beginning,” said Karl’s Appliance President Dan Schwartz. “I see this acquisition as a very positive thing for our customers.”
Previous acquisitions by Ferguson include Davis & Warshow, a New York-area residential and commercial plumbing supplier. The company also acquired the Davidson Group in 2007, a pipe and tubing, valves, fittings, and piping accessories distributor based in Brooklyn.
“Coupled with the addition of Davis & Warshow, this acquisition further expands our showroom footprint and solidifies our presence in the New York metropolitan area,” Roach added.
