UV Resources has been approved to train licensed professional engineers in New York state on its IAQ products.
Practicing Institute of Engineering Inc. granted the approval for the course, “UV-C Energy for Surface and Air Contaminant Control in HVAC&R Equipment,” which explains how engineers can use ultraviolet light in the C spectrum to improve air quality.
The approval means UV Resources can offer the course to the institute’s 1,500 licensed engineers and students. New York state requires engineers to complete 36 hours of continuing education every three years to stay licensed.
“Widely embraced in the 1990s to improve indoor air quality, many engineers now know UV-C as a means of cost effectively boosting a multitude of efficiencies,” said UV Resources President Forrest Fencl.
