The headquarters annex of Reliable Controls in Victoria, British Columbia, has been certified a platinum-level structure under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating program.

The structure includes such elements as rain gardens and integrated HVAC, lighting and security systems — all of which helped earn the LEED-platinum award from the U.S. Green Building Council, company officials said.

“We are very excited to be awarded LEED-platinum certification, the highest level achievable,” said Tom Zaban, the company’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “The Reliable Controls headquarters annex is a demonstration of our collective commitment to sustainability and resilience, and effectively demonstrates leadership in our own field, showing we can work together to implement a reality that minimizes pollution, waste, and provides a lasting benefit to our community.”
