Ohio Gov. John Kasich visited Hartzell Air Movement Sept. 30, 2013, to celebrate the first year of the Ohio Incumbent Workforce Training Voucher Program.

According to Ohio.gov, the employer-driven program was developed in partnership with OhioMeansJobs.com to “provide direct financial assistance to train workers and improve the economic competitiveness of Ohio’s employers.”

During his visit, Kasich urged other businesses to get involved with the voucher program. He also met with Hartzell executives to talk about small-business issues.

As a program participant, Hartzell provided its employees with lean manufacturing and software training.

Madan Baral, a senior project engineer at Hartzell, was pleased with the results of the training programs.

“The SolidWorks training that I received has also helped me grow individually and become a more well-rounded professional engineer,” he said.
