United Rentals Inc. has opened six outlets in North America.

United Rentals Power & HVAC has opened stores in San Antonio; Mobile and Birmingham, Ala.; and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Trench safety branches in Pittsburgh and Birmingham will provide excavation support worker training.

These latest additions to our specialty network advance our plan for 18 targeted branch openings in 2013,” said Paul McDonnell, senior vice president of operations, trench safety, power and HVAC. “They expand our presence in strategic areas of the U.S. and Canada where aging infrastructure and a robust energy sector are driving demand.
