Tennessee-based HVAC wholesaler Comfort Supply has been listed on Inc. magazine’s ranking of the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in the U.S.
The company came in at No. 4,442 overall, and 41st out of the 43 companies from the mid-Tennessee region. Among construction-related firms, it came in at No. 167.
In recent years, Comfort Supply has opened locations in Nashville, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Cookeville and Clarksville, which has contributed to the company’s 53 percent three-year growth rate, the company said. In 2002, it had just six employees. Today around 50 people work for Comfort Supply.
“Expanding into East Tennessee in 2011, first in Knoxville and then in Chattanooga, was a big step forward for our company, and a way to open the Ruud line of products to a whole new market of HVAC professionals,” said company President Clay Blevins. “We’ve also worked to update our existing stores to include a greater product offering and stock consistency. I think this award shows that we’re making the right steps forward.”
This is the first time Comfort Supply has made the list. The full rankings are available at www.inc.com/inc5000/list/2013.
