Home » HVAC industry hosts pro sports mascots in DC
No, it wasn’t the ultimate pro sports spectacular, but mascots from the Washington Wizards, Georgetown Hoyas and Washington Capitals visited Capitol Hill Aug. 5, thanks to several HVAC industry groups.
The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute; Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors; Air Conditioning Contractors of America; Heating, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International; and North American Technician Excellence welcomed more than 200 congressional staffers to the foyer of the Rayburn House Office Building for a reception celebrating Congress’ summer recess. The associations brought in the Wizards’ G-Wiz, Slapshot from the Capitals and the Hoyas’ mascot, Jack. “It is a pleasure for AHRI and our partners to host this event each year,” said AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek. “We host this event specifically for House and Senate staff during the August district work period, because we want to acknowledge their hard work and dedication as we remind them and the entire nation’s capital that our industry is committed each day to supporting the health, comfort, safety, and productivity of the American people.”
