Fieldpiece Instruments now offers the SCM4, a handheld carbon monoxide detector that the company says is easy to use and inexpensive.

HVAC technicians will find it offers quick, accurate readings and has a replaceable electrochemical sensor, officials say. Readings range from zero to 2,000 parts per million and it alerts technicians with audio and visual alerts.

“Technicians tell us we’ve got the best CO detector out there because the response rate is so quick,” said Fieldpiece product manager Russ Harju. “Plus because sensors wear out over time, having a unit with a field-replaceable sensor makes it even more attractive to HVACR professionals.”
