With the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change releasing a report today that blamed humans for global warming and called for a cap on greenhouse gas emissions, the BlueGreen Alliance called on Congress to pass President Barack Obama’s plans to tackle the issue.

“Again and again the world’s best scientists have provided damning evidence that climate change is impacting the world as we know it,” said David Foster, executive director of the BlueGreen Alliance, a group made up of environmental groups and labor unions

The Sheet Metal Workers union is among its members.

“President Obama’s Climate Action Plan makes progress toward responding to this urgent economic and environmental threat," Foster added.  "We look forward to advancing his plan and also answering the call for the global solutions the IPCC has helped to identify.”
