Saw blade manufacturer Lenox Tools is one of 23 finalists for the 2013 Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards.

The awards, presented by the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development, recognize companies that have made major contributions to the Bay State’s economy.

“We are thrilled to recognize the businesses in Massachusetts that are expanding,” said Susan Houston, executive director of the alliance. “During our 20th anniversary year, it is particularly gratifying to pay our respects to companies who contribute so much to the prosperity of Massachusetts. We’re fortunate in the commonwealth to have a diverse economy, and these companies demonstrate that growth is not confined to a particular region or industry.”

Lenox Tools operates a 535,000-square-foot, 11-acre facility in East Longmeadow, Mass., and recently opened a 35,000-square-foot warehouse nearby.

“We are committed to serving and supporting our local business community, whether it’s our involvement in the diverse civic organizations or adding 155 employees to our company,” said Lenox President Rich Wuerthele. “It’s an honor to have these efforts recognized by MassEcon.”

The five regional winners will be annnounced in October and are to be recognized at a Nov. 26 awards ceremony in Boston.
