The ACCA and RESNET are teaming up to promote home performance contracting.

The Residential Energy Service Network and Air Conditioning Contractors of America signed a memorandum of understanding July 18 where they agreed to try and raise the profile of the groups’ energy-efficiency work.

"ACCA and RESNET have had a long history of working together to draw attention to the benefits of home performance services,” said ACCA president and CEO Paul T. Stalknecht. “We believe that by continuing this partnership with RESNET we can help contractors provide quality services, with measurable results, that improve homeowners’ daily lives.”

Under the terms of the agreement, members of both groups will work on committee activities, messaging and code changes.

"When organizations like RESNET and ACCA work together, the entire industry gets stronger,” said Steve Baden, RESNET’s executive director. “We are pleased that we can expand our partnership, so that not only homeowners, but also local, state, and federal governments and utilities, realize that working with professional home performance contractors creates a more comfortable and energy efficient living environment."
