Two Midwest contractors have been given awards from Honeywell International’s building controls systems division.

AMS Mechanical Systems of Burr Ridge, Ill., has been named 2012 Authorized Controls Integrator Rookie of the Year, and Engineered Controls Inc., with offices in Omaha, Neb., and Clive, Iowa, was named Contractor of the Year.

The rookie award is given to companies based on first-year growth selling the products.

“AMS Mechanical Systems is a top new contractor in our industry and a strong advocate for Honeywell in Illinois,” said Dave Molin, general manager of the division. “Their commitment to growth and their service to their customers are truly exceptional — and set them apart. As a new partner AMS Mechanical Systems had a strong year and we’re proud to name them our “ACI Rookie of the Year.”

Molin said the performance of Engineered Controls was exceptional during 2012.

“Engineered Controls earned this important designation through its exceptional performance,” he said. “By demonstrating their expertise and knowledge of the industry, Engineered Controls has focused on growth opportunities in health care, government and education. This is Engineered Controls’ third Contractor of the Year Award and it is their dedication to growth and development, which continues to make them succeed.”
