Sumner Manufacturing says it has made improvements to its Fat Jack stand line. The Fat Jack now has a larger construction including 1 1/4-inch square tube base construction and double 3/8-inch diameter locking pins. This improved construction, along with the existing 12 1/2-inch wide-ribbed V head, increases the folding jack’s capacity from 2,500 pounds to 5,000 pounds. According to the company, the Sumner Fat Jack is capable of handling pipe up to 36 inches in diameter and has an adjustable height range between 38 inches and 52 inches. The folding Fat Jack also has the added feature of a carrying handle. The ribbed V head strengthens the V frame to prevent bending or “pancaking” that may occur with heavier loads on standard vee heads. The Fat Jack is also available with a roller head that maintains a capacity of 2,500 pounds.
