Sokkia Corp. has unveiled its SX series of total stations. The SX robotic station includes an advanced angle measurement system, RED-tech technology, reflectorless EDM, Bluetooth Class 1 long-range data communication, and an auto-tracking system with the RC-PR5 remote control system. These features are combined with the Magnet Field application software and TSshield, a telematics-based communications module with both cellular technology and GPS for positioning. The system allows for stakeout or boundary work, landscape projects or forensics, or any project requiring 3-D positioning. The SX is cable-free, and the fully integrated unit delivers a 1,000-foot working radius through Bluetooth technology. Other features of the SX series include USB for type A and mini B ports, plus serial port; and a 25-key pad control panel with LCD touch screen.
