Spectronics Corp. is offering a kit designed to help technicians find leaks in air-conditioning units. The OPK-50GS/E features the Optimax Jr., a compact, blue LED flashlight that reveals small leaks in air-conditioning systems. It is just 7¼ inches long, weighs 5 ounces, and can fit in a shirt pocket. It has a 100,000-hour LED life and is powered by three AA batteries, which are included. Also included in the kit are four Glo-Stick dye capsules. These single-dose capsules come in different sizes and concentrations to match the system capacity. One BV-50 bleed valve attaches the capsule to the service hose. An 8-ounce spray bottle of Glo-Away dye cleaner, a purge capsule and fluorescence-enhancing glasses round out the kit. All items are stored in a plastic carrying case.
