The $44 million project is part of the Dignity Health facility and is scheduled to open in early 2014.
W.J. Maloney is responsible for the design and building of all the plumbing and medical gas systems on the project, including testing and certification.
When the new facility opens, the first phase will contain a 60,000-square-foot hospital that will include an emergency room, 24 inpatient beds, two operating rooms and diagnostic services.
The company said the St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center project further strengthens its reputation for delivering quality design-build services in the health care industry.
“Our team has been able to identify a sector of the construction industry that fits well into the expertise that our company has,” said Kathryn “Kitty” Maloney-Langmade, president of W.J. Maloney Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. “The general contractors have recognized those strengths as we continue to grow our business.”
