Mitsubishi officials said its recent distributor conference provided attendees with discussions and sessions on how to successfully support the company brand.
More than 120 distributors, manufacturer’s representatives and employees and attended the Mitsubishi Electric heating and cooling division’s annual conference March 1-3 in Kapalua on Hawaii’s Maui Island.
“The theme of this year’s conference was ‘ho’oholomua,’ a Hawaiian word that roughly translates to ‘progress,’ ” said Bud Nardello, vice president of sales for Mitsubishi Electric’ U.S. heating and cooling division. “The strength and continued growth of our relationships with our distributors and manufacturer’s representatives is essential to Mitsubishi Electric’s success. They are the foundation to our progress as we move forward.”
Educational sessions over the three days focused on commercial and residential product marketing strategies and how to use new media to meet goals and make progress.
Several guest speakers were also at the conference, including retired airline Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who delivered the keynote speech. Sullenberger safely navigated U.S. Airways flight No. 1549 into an emergency water landing in New York’s Hudson River after engine failure.
Sullenberger’s speech focused on the importance of being prepared to meet the challenges of life and how everyone must embrace change to succeed.
Other speakers included economics speaker economic analyst Jeffrey Dietrich, Ph.D.; athlete Jamie Whitmore; outreach coordinator for the Wounded Warrior Project Norberto Lara; and Mitsubishi Electric U.S. Group Cos. President and CEO Katsua Takamiya.
