The Air Conditioning Contractors of America wants to recognize its members that make the biggest commitment to workplace safety.

The group recently introduced the Federated Insurance-sponsored Safety Excellence Award to note HVAC companies of all sizes that have reduced workers’ compensation rates and accidents.

"Many ACCA member companies are investing their time and money in safety programs to ensure that their team members have safe and healthy work environments," said ACCA President and CEO Paul T. Stalknecht. "We are recognizing these companies, because they are setting an example of how all contractors should run their businesses, because it not only creates a better work environment, but also saves the company money in reduced insurance premiums and accident costs. We are thankful our partners at Federated Insurance are supporting ACCA recognizing these contractors by sponsoring this award."

Nomination applications are due April 19. Winners will be announced by July 31 and formally recognized at next year’s conference in Nashville, Tenn., officials said.
