November 2012 was a decent month for Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International members.

HARDI members reported an average 6 percent sales increase for the month. The 12-month growth rate was 4.5 percent, the highest since July, officials said.

Association economist Andrew Duguay said “there was sales growth in the refrigeration, controls and HVAC subsectors, with HVAC leading the way.”

Brian Loftus, the association’s market research and benchmarking analyst, said the cleanup after Hurricane Sandy boosted numbers for the month.

“With two regions reporting year-to-year sales declines, the November sales were helped by the strong performance in the Mid-Atlantic region that benefited from the clean-up efforts following Hurricane Sandy,” he said.
