Trane’s ComfortLink II Control was awarded a Platinum Design Excellence Award from Design Journal.

The annual ADEX Awards are dedicated to recognizing the best in form, function and aesthetics of appliances, furniture and fixtures marketed to the design trade, said Trane officials.

Each year, submissions are examined and judged by an independent panel of professionals representing a cross section of the design industry.

“For more than a century, Trane has stretched the world’s idea of what is possible when it comes to innovation and technology,” said Joyce Warrington, director for brand and channel marketing, residential solutions comfort and efficiency, with Ingersoll Rand, Trane’s parent company. “It is extremely gratifying to receive recognition for the design, innovation and quality of our products from such a prestigious competition as the ADEX Awards.”

Design Journalnoted the Trane ComfortLink II Control’s 7-inch interactive, high-definition color touch screen, as part of the winning design. The device serves as a central point for homeowners to control their home’s “smart” system and security.
