Industrial HVAC equipment company Hartzell Air Movement announced it has met ISO 9001:2008 standards.

Industrial HVAC equipment company Hartzell Air Movement announced it has received ISO 9001:2008 certification.

Approved companies must meet criteria such as improved delivery times, increased productivity and less scrap and waste, Hartzell officials said.

“The purpose was to improve our products, processes and to make us more consistent,” said Tom Gustafson, the Ohio company’s chief technology officer.  “With our growth of international sales, having the ISO 9001:2008 certification will be a big benefit.”

Hartzell officials said the certification might attract some new customers, but the main reason they undertook the effort was to improve products and the working environment for employees.

Sean Steimle, Hartzell president, said the ISO approval was part of an ongoing process.

“Becoming ISO 9001:2008 certified is a significant milestone in Hartzell’s pursuit to become a leader in the air-movement industry,” Steimle said. “Hartzell is dedicated to making continuous improvements to provide high performing and reliable air-movement devices as well as quality services.”
