Lorrie Jones Gore, general manager and an owner of Gundlach Plumbing and Heating Co. in Richmond, Va., was named the 2011 HVAC Contractor of the Year by the PHCC.
Gundlach Plumbing and Heating Co. has been a family-run business for more than 82 years. Its slogan is “Making friends since 1929.” Gore was selected for the HVAC Contractor of the Year Award based on her accomplishments in business management and HVAC practices, as well as community and trade association involvement, officials said.
Gore has been an active member of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association and the PHCC of Virginia for more than 25 years. A current PHCC-Virginia board member, she served as president of her local chapter in the early 1990s. Gore has also provided office space and staff assistance for a number of years to the chapter when state funding has been tight.
In order to be named the HVAC Contractor of the Year by PHCC, candidates are evaluated by a committee who judge accomplishments in six areas: professionalism, merchandising skills, management skills, innovative HVAC practices, trade involvement and community service.
