Attendees of this week’s International Roofing Expo  will have the chance to drive a NASCAR racecar – or the next-best thing.

The show floor will feature the “NASCAR Experience” with a race simulator that contractors can “drive.”

"Once we signed a NASCAR driver as our keynote speaker, our sales team was very creative in designing sponsorships that matched the NASCAR theme,” said Lindsay Roberts, show director. “The NASCAR Experience is an out-of-the-box addition to the 2012 IRE that should be a big draw for attendees."

Simulator drivers will have the chance to compete against each other for the fastest lap time. Prizes include a $100 Visa gift card, passes to the 2013 roofing expo and a pass to the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

"The NASCAR Experience is a fun way to celebrate the Daytona 500 taking place just an hour away from Orlando on the weekend after the IRE,” said Bill Good, executive vice president of the National Roofing Contractors Association, the show’s official sponsor. “I encourage our members to experience the one-of-a-kind virtual experience through the NASCAR simulator."
The roofing expo runs today through Friday at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
