Hypertherm has added to its Duramax retrofit torch and consumables line.

Duramax torches are now OK to use on Hypertherm’s Powermax1650 as well as the 1000 and 1250, company officials said. In addition, a new straight torch (HRTs) model joins the 75 degree, ergonomic hand torch (HRT) and convertible machine torch (MRT) products.

The straight torch was made for hand-held cutting, and makes cutting and gouging in tough areas easier, officials added.

This is the first time a hand-held, straight torch is available for Hypertherm’s Powermax1000, Powermax1250, and Powermax1650 systems, they point out.

“The availability of three different torch styles designed for 40- through 100-amp cutting and gouging with both 25 foot and 50 foot torch lead options gives owners of the Powermax1000, Powermax1250, and Powermax1650 access to the most versatile family of torches on the market today,” said Clayton Gould, Hypertherm product marketing manager.
