The manual for American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers standard 90.1 has 109 addenda added since the 2007 version of the efficiency standard was released.
ASHRAE has published a new
user guide for one of its most used standards.
The manual for American
Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers standard 90.1,
“Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings,” has 109
addenda added since the 2007 version of the efficiency standard was released.
“The new users manual is a
very useful resource because it helps guide practitioners in by explaining the
intent of provisions in the standard and how they apply to buildings through
not only written word but also illustrations and example problems,” said Steve
Skalko, chairman of the standard 90.1 committee. “The latest edition of the
manual is especially valuable because it specifically identifies what changes
have taken place since the 2007 edition and through use of calculations and
examples tells how the new provisions apply.”
Additions include new
requirements for data centers and clarifications for “green” buildings.
