Larry Muncie (left), president and CEO of USO of Indiana, accepts a $20,000 donation presented by WaterFurnace CEO Tom Huntington.

The USO of Indiana was recently the recipient of $20,000 from WaterFurnace International. The manufacturer donated proceeds from its 22nd Annual Supplier Golf Outing to the United Service Organization of Indiana. The outing took place Sept. 9 in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Tom Huntington, WaterFurnace president and CEO, presented a check for the donation amount to the USO of Indiana during an Oct. 8 press conference.

“This represents the fourth consecutive year that WaterFurnace has donated the fundraising money from our golf outing to the USO. I am delighted and proud that we could contribute such a large amount of money to this organization,” Huntington said.

WaterFurnace matched the fundraising activities to reach the $20,000 mark and surpassed its goal exceeding last year’s $5,000 donation.

A portion of the WaterFurnace donation will be used to create a larger and improved Internet cafe in the new USO Indiana Recreation Center being built at Camp Atterbury. WaterFurnace will be named as the benefactor of the Internet cafe and a plaque will be placed in the new center acknowledging the contribution.

The USO of Indiana will also place a portion of the WaterFurnace contribution in a fund to support military activities in the northern part of Indiana. This will allow continued and increased support of the Indiana Air National Guard at Baer Field and the Air Force Reserve at Grissom Air Reserve Base.
