The Air Conditioning Contractors of America is aiming to help its members with the questions they have about recently passed tax legislation and expiring tax credits. The ACCA will offer a webinar called “Talking Taxes” Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. EST.

During the webinar, ACCA vice president of government relations, Charlie McCrudden, will cover several tax topics that may impact contractors’ businesses including the small business stimulus. Members will learn what’s in the small business stimulus legislation passed by Congress, the temporary tax changes and how contractors can take advantage of them.

The webinar will also discuss the  25c tax credits, the high-efficiency tax credits that are scheduled to end in December. ACCA will address the future of these tax credits and how contractors can get involved.

Also at the end of this year, the Bush tax reforms are scheduled to end, including the phaseout of the death tax, which will return to 2002 levels. ACCA members will find out what's likely to happen and how this issue is being used as a political football during the election season.

The webinar is free for all ACCA members, but registration is required by September 28 by 5 p.m. Access to the webinar requires both a phone line and an Internet browser. Registration is available online only atwww.acca.org/hottopics
