The Hyperion air handler from Trane is constructed more like a refrigerator than a typical air handler, according to the company. The insulation between the walls of the Air-Tite II cabinet prevents condensation that may cause damage to the air handler itself or a consumer’s home. In addition to eliminating sweating, the cabinet also eliminates the loose fibers from fiberglass insulation that may enter the airstream with other air handlers. The Trane Hyperion also features an all-aluminum, 100-percent-recyclable coil, and the Trane Vortic blower, which aims to provide quiet operation. The air handler’s electronic expansion valves provide the ability to change refrigerants with a dip switch selection. Condensate connections are located right in front, making installation and service easier.
