Organizers say “sparks will fly” at the 2010 Weld-Off, which will take place in November at Fabtech.

Three of the participants will qualify for the next round in the tournament that leads to the SkillsUSA championships in Kansas City, Mo., in June 2011. The top winner from SkillsUSA will represent America at the 2011 WorldSkills in London.

The competition will take place Nov. 2-4 in Atlanta, as part of Fabtech.

“The Weld-Off competition event is open to the public, and we encourage everyone to pass by and cheer on these six finalists,” said Nichole Bradley, academic program manager at the American Welding Society.  “They have each worked so hard to earn a spot here and hopefully get a chance to represent the United States at the 2011 WorldSkills competition.”
