Geary Pacific Supply celebrated its 50th anniversary in February.
The company, with headquarters in Orange, Calif., has 15 branches located in five states. Each branch held an anniversary celebration throughout the month.
The company was founded in 1961 by Pat Geary and his uncle, Les Sherden, in Fullerton, Calif., where they distributed Revco heating and air-conditioning products. In 1964, Bard Manufacturing acquired Revco’s air-conditioning business and a partnership began.
By 1969, Geary and Sherden had purchased another distributor, Pacific Air, in Sacramento, Calif. The expansion continued and in 1974, the duo opened a third location in Phoenix. In 1975, Sherden retired and in 1976 the company name was changed to Geary Pacific Corp.
Expansion continued for the next decade. Locations opened up in Redding, Calif.; Seattle; Tucson, Ariz.; San Diego; and Greeley, Colo. Geary then acquired another distribution business called Special Service Supply with locations in Las Vegas; San Jacinto, Calif.; and Bullhead City, Ariz.
Geary Pacific is a family-owned business with the second generation in place to continue the business.
