Paper reveals why engineers ‘screw up' public relations
Can’t figure out why the press releases your company puts out never make it into print or online?
Steven M. Stroum, the president Massachusetts-based Venmark International, has some ideas. His “Top Seven Reasons Why Engineers Screw Up Press Releases” lists these possibly “fatal” flaws: writing in “engineering speak,” not understanding what makes a product newsworthy, believing that more information is always better, and not including a professional photograph.
Stroum, who says he has written more than 14,000 press releases, explains how to fix these blunders. The white paper is available at his company’s Web site.
