The Mechanical Service Contractors of America
named W.E. Bowers Inc. in Beltsville,
Md., as its Shooting Star for
2009.
The award is given to an MSCA Star contractor who has
used the group’s standards to promote business success. MSCA Star contractors
are required to complete a program in order to be designated as MSCA Star
Qualified.
“W.E. Bowers is an exemplary member of our
industry,” said MSCA board of managers Chairman Jeff McCoy. “The Shooting Star
Award recognizes the company’s excellent efforts toward demonstrating that
every employee understands MSCA Star criteria and works to utilize the
company’s Star designation in every aspect of business operation.”
McCoy
went on to explain how W.E. Bowers exemplifies all the best qualities of an
MSCA Star and how they have put their Star designation into every facet of
their service operation. He commended the company on putting MSCA Star to work
for them in a visible and positive way.
W.E. Bowers has been
an MSCA member since 1996. The company received the MSCA Star qualification in
2004, the first year the program was available. The company was also the first
in the nation to earn MSCA GreenStar status, receiving the distinction last
year, for successfully demonstrating commitment to environmental stewardship
throughout the entire organization.
W.E. Bowers has been a
member of the U.S. Green Building Council since 2007 and they are currently
involved in several Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design projects.
