Hardcast has introduced its new Kwiki locking extension product. The Kwiki Locking Extension will replace the previous Kwiki non-locking extension in Hardcast’s HVAC product offerings. With its locking features, the company claims this accessory provides significantly increased labor and time savings, offering a quick and easy installation that does not require the use of a small setscrew and enabling last-minute field changes to be completed in a matter of minutes. With an additional locking feature, the Kwiki provides security to damper regulator applications. First the barrel is tightened, locking the damper blade to the side of the damper, and then the wing nut is also tightened, ensuring that the damper blade remains in place. Extending 2 inches from the damper, the Kwiki Locking Extension also enables the duct system to use external insulation with a higher R-value. According to Hardcast, this improves the energy efficiency of the building and enables building owners to achieve decreased energy costs.
