CertainTeed Corp. announced that 20 of its
products now have “green-approved” status from the National Association of Home
Builders’ research center.
NAHB gives the status to
environmentally friendly products that align with the organization’s National
Green Building Standard. Through the program, points are awarded based on
factors that contribute to the sustainability of a product, including recycled
content, manufacturing plant certification, and the use of durable, termite-resistant
materials.
“Receiving green-approved status from the NAHB
validates our commitment to being the industry leader in the development of
sustainable building products and the environmentally friendly operation of our
manufacturing facilities,” said Aman Desouza, director of innovation and
sustainability for CertainTeed Corp. “We want to walk lock-step with builders,
contractors, architects and specifiers to ensure we help them meet today’s
green building requirements.”
The certification was given to
20 CertainTeed products, including duct-wrap insulation.
