Emerson Climate Technologies announced that it
would be using its manufacturing plant in Thailand to handle production of
aluminized Copeland Scroll Digital compressors for transport
applications.
Through the support of large transport
original-equipment manufacturers, the Emerson Climate Technologies plant in
Sidney, Ohio, has seen a steady increase of aluminum-added Copeland Scroll
Digital compressor production demand over the past several years, officials
said.
Emerson officials said that by using the plant in
Thailand, the company will be able to better serve the transport market, offer
shorter lead times for transport users, cargo companies and dealers, and
provide the amount of compressor supply needed to meet OEM demand.
“The
aluminized Copeland Scroll Digital technology is gaining in popularity and
utilization in the transport market due to the compressor’s inherent efficiency
advantages, ability to protect against corrosion and reliability benefits,”
said Keith Browning, vice president of OEM sales for the Emerson Climate
Technologies’ refrigeration division. “At Emerson Climate Technologies, we are
committed to doing everything that we can to help the industry take full
advantage of this premium product. The Thailand facility will definitely help
us do that.”
The compressors feature modulation technology,
which Emerson says is ideal for refrigerated transport applications where
reliable temperature control is a necessity.
