The
Quality Service Contractors organization was recognized recently for raising
more than $125,000 for the Challenge Air for Kids and Friends
organization.
QSC received an Outstanding Supporter Award at the annual Challenge Air for
Kids and Friends Gala, Oct. 25 in Dallas. The presentation occurred during the
15th anniversary celebration of the nonprofit organization, which was held at
the Southwest Airlines headquarters at Dallas Love Field airport.
The award was presented by Challenge Air treasurer and QSC member Sonny
Friedman of Atlas Plumbing & Heating Co. in Dallas. Charlie Wallace, QSC
executive director, was on hand to accept the award for QSC.
“It is a real honor to accept this award on behalf of QSC,” Wallace said. “The
ones responsible for this award are the QSC contractor and industry partner
members, the golf committee and Hodes Co. They have supported Challenge Air
through our twice-yearly golf tournaments the past five years. There have also been other individual
donations who have contributed to the total. It is such a great feeling that
our association has come together to support such a worthy cause.”
Challenge Air for Kids and Friends aims to offer motivational, inspirational
and life-changing experiences to physically challenged children and youth
through aviation.
