Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division was among those offering its kudos to the 2008 winner of AHRI’s Richard C. Schulze Distinguished Service Award.

Paul Doppel, Mitsubishi’s director of factory liaison and government affairs, was given the award at the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute’s annual meeting, Nov. 16-18 in Carlsbad, Calif.

Doppel was recognized for his leadership serving as chairman of the AHRI Ductless Equipment Engineering Committee. He oversaw the development of proposed ARI Standard 1230P, “Performance Rating of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Multi-Split Air-Conditioning and Heat Pump Equipment.”

Doppel has been a longtime contributor to AHRI product-section work. He currently serves on the AHRI Standards Policy Committee and Cooling Standards Subcommittee.

“We are extremely proud of Paul’s achievement,” said William Rau, senior vice president and general manager of Mitsubishi Electric HVAC. “His hard work and dedication is an asset to Mitsubishi Electric, and in his six years with the company, he has worked tirelessly towards educating the industry about VRF technology and its place in the world. His depth of knowledge on this subject has made him an ideal recipient for this award.”
