Cooper Tools has introduced two new compound action snips. The new M8R and M9R vertical snips are equipped with specially designed angled blades that allow for much greater reach and maneuvering in overhead and other awkward, hard-to-reach areas, according to the manufacturer. These two new products join the Wiss compound action line of specialty snips for professionals and consumers. The M8R (straight and left cutting) and M9R (straight and right cutting) are designed to extend reach and lessen the strain of cutting during awkward applications. The tools are designed to cut up to 22-gauge steel. The hardened pivot bolt “floats” to reduce blade stress and to help maintain alignment. The wide jaw opening and non-slip serrated jaw blades allow material to set deeper and grip tighter throughout the entire cut. Long handles provide extra leverage and reduce the amount of cutting effort needed. Additionally, soft-handle grips are equipped with dual safety loops for lanyard attachment.
