Over 50 million Copeland-brand CR compressors have been installed, Emerson Climate Technologies officials announced.
This year, the company says it will launch into production a new R-410A based platform of reciprocating compressors named CP8. This new platform will expand Emerson’s R-410A line of Copeland compressors while providing customers another choice of technologies for their R-410A products.
“Since the 1980s, our company has built reciprocating compressors for a broad range of air-conditioning, heat-pump and refrigeration applications,” said Scott Barbour, president of the air-conditioning division of Emerson Climate Technologies. “Over the years, the CR reciprocating compressor has been widely adopted by our customers around the world making it a staple of the industry. Because of this wide acceptance, its aftermarket importance has become even greater for our business. Fifty million compressors is a big installed base.”
Emerson said that the versatility of the Copeland CR compressor is the reason why it continues to be selected by contractors and OEMs in many markets that use reciprocating technology. The CR compressor family features compressors designed for air-conditioning and heat pump applications, refrigeration applications, water-source heat pumps and many other applications.
