Bruce-Rogers said its “Free Camouflage Gear & Apparel” customer promotion was a hit.
The Fort Smith, Ark.-based wholesaler rewarded customers with camouflage gear and apparel for making more of their purchases at Bruce-Rogers. The promotion ran from July 1 to Oct. 26.
“I wanted to run a plus business promotion that fit our customer type at the right time,” said Dan Mills, sales manager. “Camouflage gear and apparel seamed to really fit. I also only wanted a promotion where I could track the dollars and cents to the penny and make sure that any participating customer sales increases came as a result of the promotion.”
During the promotion period, customers had to match and surpass their purchases from the same period last year. The more they bought, the more free gear and apparel they could earn.
Bruce-Rogers offered RealTree clothing, Leupold binoculars, Barnett crossbows and Browning gun safes as prizes. Customers could even earn a Napoleon stainless steel 59,000 Btu propane grill with rotisserie.
“It was a huge success,” said Mills. “We tracked well over $450,000 in new gross business and over $100,000 in gross profit above last year at this time with the customers who earned, all as a direct result of the promotion. What’s even better, the growth came in a down economy.”
