The National Association of Home Builders is predicting record attendance at its 10th annual green-building conference, May 10-13 in New Orleans. More than 1,500 are expected for the event that will focus on the use of renewable materials in residential construction.

Sixty educational sessions are planned, along with the annual Green Building Awards.

"Green building is no longer a niche market,” said Ray Tonjes, a custom-home builder and green subcommittee chairman. “It is the present and the future of the building industry and this conference really demonstrates how far we have come.

“With the event's excellent education sessions, speakers and green exhibits, home tours and networking opportunities, the insights and ideas builders will come away with are unmatched."

Newly built, environmentally responsible homes in the area will be showcased. Details are available atwww.nahb.org/buildingconference.
